I am a Civil War student and looked up E.C. Elliott on the NPS Soldiers and Sailors System and there are several. There are two that might be your Elliott. One is from KY the 11KYCAV.He was a first Sergt. and road with Morgan. To my knowledge Morgan never went to MO.The second was from TN. a Pvt. in the 17TN.Inf.. This regiment was formed mainly from men of south central and north central TN..Mustered at Camp Trousdale in Summer CO.on the KY. border. The regiment served mainly in central KY before going east and wasn't in MO. The data on the S&S Service is only basic. He would have a more detailed compiled military service record but, you would have to go to National Archives or pay to receive.
There is a Capt. John Hickey in the 3rd Battalion MO. Inf.and he is listed as in the 6MO.Inf.in both he is a Capt.
1stLt. R.A. Dickey is listed as in the MO.State Guards
There is no Regimental History for the 3rd Battalion or the Home Guard listed.Sometimes State Archives have records of Homeguards. There were lots of misc. groups in MO. /TN. that were never formally were recognized but, did fight. I know some people who study MO. in the Civil War if you are interested. Many times Homeguards transferred into the regular Army as the war progressed.Confederate records are sparse in some cases. All Regiments above were Confederate Regiments.
There is no record of a N.E.Travis as being in the Civil War.
What makes you think E.C. was involved with these two Mo.men?Hope this helps......
Lots of Elliott's in MO.I hope this helps....
