Dale, I apologize for taking so long to reply. I've not done a lot of genealogy lately and also had a lot of other things going.
I'll be glad to share what I have including pictures. The only thing I've asked of people is that they have done their own Ellis family, names, birth dates, married who, kids, where buried, etc.
I am descended from James Cass Ellis. I have his picture and also pictures (bad copy) of brothers Frank and Marion.
I only know of one son of Josiah Newton, William Frank Ellis, would that be your family line.
"Josiah was mustered in the Confederate army in 1862 under the name J.N. Ellis.he was initially in Smith's Legion and stationed in Loudon, Tennessee. He was later transferred to 65th Georgia Infantry, Company B.Confederate military records show he was ill with pneumonian, and died in Blue Ridge. He is buried in Toccoa Baptist cemetery next to Elijah and Lavisa. His tombstone says "erected by Frank."Familylore says that Frank was orphaned, and was cared for by the L.P. Grant family in Atlanta (of Grant Park)."
J. N. Ellis is listed on a monument dedicated to Civil War veteran's in Blue Ridge's Veterans Memorial Park, which ironically is located on the land where William Frank Ellis Sr. lived.
