Ellis Family in Connecticut 1750-1800

I'm searching for anyone who can help me fill out the information I have on Richard and Mercy (Carpenter) Ellis, and their children including Mercy's children from her first marriage. They would have been living in the Stonington area around 1747, moving a few years later to the Preston area.

There is information available on Richard's baptism and on the date of his marriage to Mercy, the birth of his three children, and several mentions of the Carpenter Ellis children, but it is very sparse.

I can find no correct information on Mercy's parents nor any mention of her death, and I have no death date for Richard. I would also like to know if he had a wife before Mercy. It seems unusual that he would have waited until his 40's to marry for the first time. I would also dearly love to find out about Mercy's probable first husband Joseph Carpenter.

I hope there is someone who has had access to more thorough documents than I have had. Thanks for any help you can give.
