From Wales to Virginia in early 1600's

Hi! I was curious if anyone from the Edward Ellis clan has participated in DNA testing? I believe that I descend through John Ellis who was born around 1661. First record for him is in Varina in Henrico County. A portion of his descendants settled in Tuckahoe and Goochland County - west of Richmond, VA. I have not been able to tie John 1661 to David Ellis - who came in the Second Supply to Jamestown in 1608. David and his wife, Margaret and child, lived on the Governor's Land just north of Jamestown in 1625, but I have not been able to find any documentation showing that they later moved to Varina or The Curles area. I was wondering if possibly the Edward who arrived from Wales in 1623 to Surry, could possibly be the brother of John 1661's father? Both families came from Wales, and Surry and Jamestown/Henrico are just separated by the James River. If anyone from Edward's descendants has participated in a DNA project, then maybe we could prove - or disprove - the connection between these two families. Thanks!
