Elems, Elmes?

Hi I am currently researching my own family history and I have a Catherine Jane Elems who married James Donnelly (my gg grand parents)in Waterford Ireland. Her father was listed as Edward Elems on the marriage certificate. The exact date of the of the wedding I don't have to hand at the moment but from memory was late 1800's in St Olafs Waterford. I think there was a collection of Elems lived in and around Waterford at this time. Both James and Catherine are buried in Belfast City Cemetery. I don't know if this is any use to you but there probably is a distant link there somewere along the line as Elems tends to be a rare name in Ireland.
Paul Donnelly
