Trying to reconstruct Elms family who lived in Mecklenburg Co NC. In 1880 census John W. Elms was a butcher, a widower, 2/ 3 children, the oldest being Lucy Susan Elms. His wife was Susan Key. John Wm. Elms had brother James Elms who lived in Pineville w/ Charles Elms Spratt, age 59, Cousin, in his HH. The Spratts were the first white family to settle in Charlotte. There was a John P Elms. b. 1 833 NC, d. 3 Jul 1863 in Gettysburg, s/o Charles Elms and Sarah Barnett b. 1795.Sarah Elms was m/o James Elms b. 1833, lived in Pineville. Also in the HH of James Elms was nephew Hamilton Elms, age 20 plus, John Elms nephew age 10.Need any info on this Elms family esp. how it connects to Spratt family in Pineville - Mecklenburg co NC.
