Hi Brenda
I am also researching the Wexford Elmes My wife's Father "Thomas Elmes Lived on the family farm in Rochestown and I have Visited it on many occasions I understand That once there was two farms belong to the Elmes Family Euseby had one and Samuel had the other I would love to see your photos so I can see which one is Samuel and which is Euseby's
The Elmes Fomily appear to go back to The Cromwellian occupation of Ireland The first mention that I have Found is John Elmes went over to Ireland as a member of Lord Cromwell’s Horse Guards. The British Government decided to give the lands in Ireland to the Army in lieu of pay,. By sending the occupiers of the land to Connaught, or transporting them to the Colonies.

Present Quarters of various Regiments of Horse Guards.
Under Colonel Vere Essex Cromwell’s Horse Guards there is an Irish chancery Bill
Dated 20/02/1662.Item; Richard Sprigg administrator of Thomas Sprigg Deceased Intestate, a Trooper in Capt Vere Essex Cromwell’s Troop-V-JOHN ELMES, John Carson,
George Persivall, and Thomas Harrison who are in possession of assets of the Deceased, to give up his assets.
I have a copy of his Will Signed 30 march 1697

Please get back to me with any information that you have and if possible an attchment with photos of the farm.
