Hello. I believe I have some important news to share. I am a descendant of Charles Colquitt Hall, who I think second married Amanda Elrod about 1901-1909. They relocated to Campbell County, Tennessee. In 1910 and in 1930, one may see them in the Campbell County, Tennessee census with Aunt Mary Elrod (1910) who married a Mr. Brock, was widowed, and then appears with Amanda and Charles Hall in the 1930 Campbell County, Tennesse census as Mary Brock. Could it be that I have the correct Amanda Elrod? Because Mary Elrod announced herself as Amanda's aunt, it is possible that Amanda and Milton were the children of Mary's sister. Notice on the 1910 and 1930 censuses I mention that Amanda states her father was either from Michigan or Utah. Could he have been a Yankee soldier who left Amanda's mother when she was very small?
I look forward to hearing from you and others about this Elrod family. Charles Hall was my grandmother's father. He died about 1930. My grandmother's mother, Eliza B. Strickland, suddenly departed about 1901 and was never heard from again.
