Please also see my reply post to Josiah Elrod on this forum. Contrary to that post saying she died in 1894, I believe Amanda Elrod (born about 1870-1875) married second (married Adams the first time) my grandfather, Charles Colquitt Hall between 1901 and 1909, and then relocated to Campbell County, Tennessee. Charles and Amanda may be seen in Campbell County in 1910 with Aunt Mary Elrod. Aunt Mary Elrod married John Brock in Campbell County before 1920, and appears there with Mr. Brock in the 1920 census. In 1930, Mary Elrod has been widowed and appears with Charles and Amanda Hall again in Campbell County. I believe this Amanda had a brother named Milton, and that Amanda and Milton were the children of Mary's sister, Adeline (Adelaid) and perhaps a Union soldier from Michigan or Utah (Amanda told the census taker in 1910 and in 1930 that he was from one of these states) who left Adeline when her children were very small. I have not found Charles and Amanda Hall in the 1920 census.
Thanks to anyone with any information. I note that Amanda Hall had a will in Campbell County sometime after 1930 but before 1950. Does anyone have any information on Amanda? Amanda had a will that I am in the process of ordering - I wonder if she left something to a collateral Elrod as she had no children of her own?
