My Elrod ancestors are a very confusing bunch. They intermarried and frequently used the same names over and over. Here is where I am with your question. The William Elrod born in 1773 who died in 1861 was married first to Sara Reid and second to Sara Martina Huffman. He was the father of Jemima Elrod (1815-1900) by Huffman. The 1850 census you cite for the William Elrod in Georgia shows him married to Nancy Elrod. The Jemima listed on the 1850 census as their daughter is shown as 10 years old, so she was born in 1840, and therefore could not be the Jemima born in 1815. Most records show Sara Riddle's husband to be John B Elrod, son of Christopher Elrod. Her birth year is shown as 1825, so the Jemima you cite born in 1815 could not be her daughter. The Jemima born in 1815 married John Howard. I have been researching the William Elrod of 1773-1861 for a long time and cannot determine who his parents were.
