There are some interesting parallels between what you posted and what i've found, there are also some discrepancies so it makes me wonder if my Stillman and your suggestion that George Stillman Elsemore are the same. What we seem to agree on is that Stillman Elsemore was in the Calais, Me. Census. I've found that he and his wife Clara Woodman (originally from Canada) were living with Clara's parents in 1860 in Calais. I show their children as William Keen, George, Rodney and Clara. Not all that different from your George D., Rodnew(y)?, Ameda and William R. (could this be a K and not an R)?
Reason I ask is that my mother knows that her Grandfather was William Keen Elsemore married to Mary Augusta Finnigan from Haverstraw, Rockland Co., New York and they lived in Wantage, Sussex Co., New Jersey. They eventually relocated to Peekskill, Westchester Co., New York (again don't know why). We still don't know how/why William Keen relocated to Wantage, New Jersey, but my mothers father Herbert John Elsemore was born in Wantage on October 20, 1895. I'm intrigued by the comparisions. Do you know who I could write to in Maine to try and find George Stillman Elsemore's birth certificate and maybe his marriage certificate?
