I have encountered several members of the Washington County Elsemore/Elsmore/Ellsmore clan in the course of my own research.

1. My 2nd cousin, 3 times removed, Edith E. Glidden, b. 13 Jun 1864, Princeton, d. 17 Mar 1909 Princeton; m. Rodney Woodman Elsemore, b. c. 1861 Cooper, ME, d. 21 Mar 1900 Princeton. They lived in Princeton, where they are buried, and had at least one child: George S. Elsemore, b. c. 1886, m. 23 Aug 1908 to Laura E. Towers. George and Laura had at least 14 children. I have Edith's Glidden ancestry back to the immigrant ancestor. Would be interested to get more info on Rodney (his parents, siblings, etc.)

2. Asenath T. Ellsmore, b. 13 Jul 1879 in Grand Lake Stream, the child of William H. Ellsmore, b. Machias, and Catherine Brown, b. Mar 1861 in Woodstock, Carleton, NB, d. 18 Jan 1917 in Rumford, Oxford, ME. Asenath married my 2G-great uncle, Henry James, of Princeton. They had seven children. I have information about their descendants and Henry's ancestry, as well as Asenath's siblings and parents, William H. Ellsmore and Catherine Brown. All of the information about Catherine Brown was provided by Norma Brown ( I would be interested in more information about William Ellsmore.

3. My great aunt, Pansy James, married 26 Oct 1933, in Princeton, ME, Franklin Elsemore, b. 24 Apr 1909 in Grand Grand Lake Stream. They had one son, Franklin, Jr., who still lives in Princeton. I have no information about Franklin's parents. He is probably a relation of Asenath, above.

4. Lastly, Annie L. Spinney, d. 30 May 1933 of tuberculosis, age 66y, 10m, 16d. Wife of Benj. E. Spinney. Dau. of Wm. H. Elsmore, a hotel proprietor b. Westley (sic), ME, and Hannah Yeaton, b. Cooper, ME.

Annie's son, Franklin Pierce Spinney, married my 2G Aunt, Celia James. Is Annie's father the same William H. Elsmore who later married Catherine Brown in GLS? Are Annie, Rodney and Asenath all siblings? Any information would be appreciated.

David James
