William and Minnie were the godparents of my aunt, Dorothy (nee) Roeser, who is still alive. Dorothy remembers the oldest children of Wm and Minnie, but doesn't remember the younger ones. She and her mother often visited Hoboken when she was young.
I suspect that William's father may have been the son of my great-grandfather, Sylvan Elser (which would make you and me third cousins). Since I do not know William's father's name, I can not research this further.
I know that William's mother was Anna; and that he had at least four sisters - Frances, Pauline, Anna, and Mildred.
Is your mother still alive? Does she know the name of her Elser Grandfather? Does she remember a Carrie Roeser (my grandmother) from Brooklyn, NY who called William her cousin?
