According to census records, William's parents were both born in Germany. In 1920, Anna (William's mother), stated that she was born specifically in Bavaria. William was born in New York, but I have no idea where.
My grandparents were both born in Manhattan, and my Aunt Dorothy was pretty sure that William was born there, too. William's parents must have moved to Hoboken shortly after his birth, because all his sisters were born in New Jersey.
Do you know if William's death certificate lists his father's name? When did William die?
Does your Mom remember my Aunt? My Aunt is about two years younger than your Mom. There was also a brother, Alvin Roeser, who would have been about your Mom's age. He died in 1933 in a motorcycle accident.
