Lookin 4 Emanuel's from Sampson Co. N.C.

My great great grandfather was a full blooded I believe Coharie Indian and his name was Enoch Emanuel and in the late 1800's he resided with his wife in Sampson County North Carolina. They had children together and one happened to be my great grandfather who in the early to mid 1900's married an african american woman and from them came my grandfather Harold Manuel. They had I believe 12-13 children. Now for what reason I don't know, is why my family changed their name from Emanuel to Manuel. I would love for anyone to respond to this with any information about any E-manuel's or Manuel's around North Carolina or around anywhere for that matter. I just want some information about my background. Just a little bit of info is helpful. Thank you for your time.
