Your GA clue may be correct. A David Emanuel came to St George Parish ( Burke Co ) in 1755. He had several children, including Amos, Asa, David Jr, John and Levi. David Jr was the governor of Ga for a short time in 1801. For some reason all the Emanuels left that part of GA by 1830 or so. Some went to FL, some to AL and one family to Talbot GA-mine. I believe Amos lived in Screven Co GA and had Children Amos, Levy and Zeany. There's lots of stuff on the Emanuels at the GA Archives. Good Luck
