I am interested in your message because my great-grandfather was named Hugh Emanuel and lived in Clarendon, Jamaica. His first child may have been born in the 1880s and he may have been born about 1860. We were told that he may have emigrated as a child from Madeira (part of Portugal). Other names that have been linked to him include de Casseres, Pontes and Sweeney. Could there be any connection?
