I would be interested in corresponding re the Manuels/Emanuels of Sampson County. My mother and father, yes, you read it correctly, are both descendants of this family. In fact I have a picture of my mother's Uncle Enoch and his wife that passed down through the family. Have a bit of history, copy of pages from an old family Bible, a copy of some pages from the Butler book and some oral history shared by my mother who died at age 96 in 2003. Her father was Alonzo, his father was Alvin, whose father was Michael Alvin (married Pharby "Fereby" Hardin), whose father was Nicholas "Nicky" (married to Millie Hale) and fought in the Revolutionary War (Shadrack was their son also), whose father was Ephriam, whose father was Nicholas.

Michael and Pharby also had a daughter Tempy Jane who married Archibald Jacobs, their son Enos had a son Charlie Oscar who was the father of my father Harvey. Etc., etc.

I'm only about 40 miles from Sampson County and visit from time to time with the few relatives I know still living there. I'm looking to connect with others, where ever they are, and see what we can share with each other.
