Hello Ashley,

Thank for the response. Appears we both had Manuels on our brains last night. I was on line about the same time you were responding to my e-mail.

I have similiar information to yours except that Clemont, Shafter, Leslie, Levi, Alice and Bertie--my mom--are children of Alonzo Manuel (Sallie Winn), son of Michael Alvin Manuel and Anna Eliza Brewington. I know all of the off spring of Alonzo and Sallie. In fact, we have a family renuion scheduled in August. Page's offspring also participate.

Michael and Anna's children were: Jewel, who moved to Leesburg, Fla; Eliccie, Alonza/Alonzo, my grandfather; Lucian (I know more about him); Ashley who also moved to Leesburg; Reuben (I don't remember what mom told me about him; Celesital, who married a Simmons, they have offspring here in Goldsboro; Wiley Page--whose grandchildren are Smiths and live in Goldsboro, Charlotte, Raleigh etc.

My research etc. follows the same line as yours:

Michael Alvin – Anna E. (1837),--as above. He taught school, I know a cousin who has his old Bible. I was able to take pictures of some of the pages with my digital camera. Some pages from an old teacher's manual were folded in the Bible. I sure could have used those pages when I was learning how to diagram sentences. (smiles). I was allowed to borrow them and scanned them into my computer.

Mike (Michale) Manuel –Pharby Hardin (1787),--They were parents of my maternal great great grandfather Michael Alvin; Tempy Jane who married Archibald Jacobs--they are my paternal great, great grandparents; Enoch Manuel who wrote a booklet Sketch of the classified Indians of Sampson Co. North Carolina which I would love to get my hands on. Based on my research last night, it appears that there may be a copy At Appalachian State University. I plan to call their library tommorow to see if they indeed have it. I have a picture of Enoch and his wife which my mom had. I show him (age 34) married to Sarah E. (age 27) with four of their children being: Herbert, Jonah, Enoch and Sarah E. in the 1880 census and another four in the 1900 census: Macie, Lizzie, Levanda, and Luther--Enoch is now 54 and Sarah E is age 46--by this time Enoch, Jr. is 22 yrs old and married to ??Doshie also age 22 living together in the Dismal Township

Nicholas ‘Nickey’ Manuel – Mildred 'Millie' Hale may also be Margaret (1755) He fought in the Revolutionary War. I have a copy of Milly's request for his pension found on the internet.

Ephraim Emanuel – Emelia (1725),

Nicholas Manuel – Mahala (Mahalie) (1695)

My desire is to fill in all the gaps I can. Where do you fit in this line? Do you have my e-mail address? If not, use stebert2002@yahoo.com and perhaps we can exchange more information.

Bertie
