My name is Steve Maynor and I am in search of my Great-Great Grandparents and their family. My great-great granparents were Jonah and Luberta Bedsole Emanuel, both born in Sampson County, North Carolina. Jonah was born May of 1876 or 1877 and Luberta was born May of 1884 or 1885. Jonah and Luberta were both Native American of the Coharie Tribe, and were married in 1899. Their children were: Lubertha Ann Emanuel Maynor, James Watha Emanuel, Lina Casin Eveline "Casey" Emanuel, Myrtle Emanuel, Lillian M. Emanuel, Joseph Enoch Emanuel, Amos Emanuel and Liddie Luveneal Emanuel. They moved to Clio, SC between the 1920's - 1940's and changed their name to Maynor. Jonah changed his name to Charlie Maynor and Luberta to "Rosie Maynor???", and not sure of the rest. My great grandmother Bertha Maynor and uncle Watha Emanuel did not move to Clio, SC, but they remained in Sampson County, NC. This is a real long and funny story, and if you are interested I will share in private. If you have any information on the family or their whereabouts please contact me, as I would love to reconnect.

Steve Maynor
