I do not have any information about Edward EMANUEL, however I am researching EMANUEL. My mother was Emma Josephine (EMANUEL) MILLER, dau. of Asa Coleman EMANUEL, son of Zachary Taylor EMANUEL, son of Samuel E. EMANUEL. All were from Claiborne Co., MS, except Samuel E. EMANUEL, b. 1809 in VA, graduated from South Carolina College in 1831, then graduated in 1844 from Jefferson College, Philadelphia, PA with Diploma of M.D. (Doctor of Healing Art-in Surgery). He died somewhere in MS in 1878 from Yellow Fever which he developed while traveling to care for other Yellow Fever victims.

It is believed that his father was Solomon EMANUEL, b. abt 1780 who came to Richmond Virginia from Anspach (Germany?) before 1802.

There were quite a few EMANUEL's in and around Charleston, SC and some of the family traveled between SC & NY.

If you find any connections or any additional info about this family please let me know.

Edward "Ed" Miller in Indianapolis, IN
