Eighmyville was named for George Emigh who was about 18 years old when he settled just outside Rhinebeck and learned the wagon making trade. Alvin Eighmey (spelling from his obituary) died March12, 1924. Alvin was the son of George. Alvin was born 2-12-1840, died 3-12-1924. At the time of his death he was survived by a grand-daughter, a half-sister, and a brother William.
