Dear Hazel,
John L Broadstreet was my great-grandfather. His brother was James A Broadstreet who married Minerva Parker. John and James' father was William Broadstreet listed in the 1880 Census (age 48) Cloverdale Twp, Putnam Co., IN with wife- Lydia (age 38), John L (15), James A (13), Flora E (11), Margaret (9), Peter Q (7), and Henry C (1/12). There is a Hattie Broadstreet listed in the 1880 Census Cloverdale Twp, Putnam Co, IN as a daughter (age 12). The father is James (42), wife- Mary E (41), daughter- Sarah E (21), son- D.W.W. (17), son James O (14). Maybe this is your Hattie. James and Minerva's children listed in the Starke County School Enrollment Records are: John b1892, Wylie b1887, Lavina b1893, and Cecil b1896. I think that's all I've got.
Denise
