A George Amigh Jun. filed a petition on Feb. 6, 1860 at Olean, Cattaraugus Co., NY for reimbursement for personal items used during service in the War of 1812. He served for about 3 months in Capt. Samuel S. Verbryck's Company, NY Militia, 83rd Regt. commanded b Lt. Col. B.J. Gurnee. He enlisted Oct. 29, 1814 for the defense of Brooklyn. He listed his age as 68 on his Petition. He was on the 1860 census for Olean, NY.
Information was received in 1985, along with "Military Records of Albany, NY did not have any information on a George Emigh, any spelling, having been killed in the War of 1812".
Check "Amick" board for information re. Abraham and Charity.
