This message is addressed to Frank Emigh. I am looking for information on my Gr-Gr Grandmother. We knew of her as Alice Amy. She was married to Hiram young of Curtain Township, Centre County, Pa. His obituary say's that he died in 1901 at the age of 86. It says that both he and Alice came from Columbia County, Pa. and she died on Jan. 20, 1864.They had three children Ira M, Anginetta , and Harvey Scott. He then married a Rebecca Cartwright.
I have found a Horner family tree posted on a website, that lists an Elsie Emeigh as the daughter of Cristian Emeigh and Lucinda Daughenbach. It says that Elsie is an unlinked child, and was born in Morris Township, Clearfield County. No DOB given. I am curious about the Unlinked child part.
We have pictures of her daughter Annie, or Anginetta who was married to my Gr-Grandfather John Laubscher. From her pictures, she is clearly an indian woman. My father, and his brothers (All dead now) say that she came from near Salamanca, NY, possibly near the Cornplanter Reservation
If in fact Elsie and Alice are one and the same, could this be a reasonable explanation as to why she is unlinked to Crhistian and Lucinda? We are baffled as to where Alice?Elsie? came from. Does anybody here have any clues? Thank you, Bill Laubscher
