Frank..

I really appreciate you taking the time to look at the Mary Ameys for me. Our Mary married Joel Houghton, who was born in Vermont and who moved with his family to Maryland, Otsego County, New York. My husband's great-grandmother, Mary Amey Houghton, was named after her. Mary Houghton was born in 1844. I have not yet found the correct birthdate for Mary Amey, but it was probably in the late 1700s somewhere. The Amey/Emigh family of Mary's lived next to the Houghton property in Vermont. That is about all that I know. The town was Putney, Windham, VT.
It is possible that Mary was from a different Amey/Amy family. I believe her middle name was Ann, but that too could be wrong. I had thought originally that the name could be French, but I am inclined now to think that it is German. There is, however, the name Amee, which could also be a variation of that.

Thanks again.
