I wonder if John had a brother named George Emigh (b. Feb 1823)? I am descended from George - his parents were from NY. George is buried in Clearfield Co, PA and lived for some time in Elk County - where he had married Esther Horning. George was single, living in Erie Co, PA in the 1850 census.
