JANE BLAIR,daughter of HUGH & MARY DAWSON BLAIR, did not
marry JOHN ENDSLEY, Jr.

For confirmation, see:

JOHN ENDSLEY FAMILY BIBLE RECORD

It has been published several times. In an early edition
of the Marshall County [Tennessee] Historical Quarterly,
page 1 of MARSHALL COUNTY TENNESSEE BIBLE RECORDS by
Carolyn McAdams, Edited by Helen Crawford Marsh
published by MARSHALL COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, LEWISBURG,
TENNESSEE 1981
and
JOHN BLAIR OF GUILFORD COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA and Some of
His Descendants
Copyright 1979 by Bean & Lucy Echels Blair
709 North 7th Street
Lamesa, Texas 79331
especially page 60.

Nor is it true that JOHN MILTON ENDSLEY, son of JOHN & MARY (BLAIR) ENDSLEY [HE MARRIED HIS MOTHER'S NIECE, HIS FIRST
COUSIN], was married more than once. Some have posted in-
formation to the effect that John M. (again, he is not a
"junior", either, had a very secret, clandestine first
marriage to a Jane and had several children, two of them
named John and James, abandoned that family, moved 3-miles
away, married Christiana Burgess and had several more
children, including two more sons named John and James!
Ain't so! Doubters are referred to the Censuses of Bedford, Lincoln, & Marshall Counties TN, 1830, 1840, 1850,
1860. Both families are listed in all of those censuses in all the censuses. No. John Milton did not run back and forth between the two households!

To date [03/08/2002] there is no known connection between
JOHN ENDSLEY (13 Aug 1769-21 Sep 1828) who brought his
family from Stokes Co. NC to Bedford County TN in 1816
nor his son,
John Milton Endsley [19 Mar 1803-05 Dec 1884]
and that of
John Endsley [b. 1800, NC-?? who m. a Jane ? [some suspect
her Surname was Kidd and there is some evidence to support
that belief]. The Jane is shown in 1850 Census of Lincoln
County TN as b. 1797 in NC. This is the family which,
some researchers list among others, JAMES KIDD ENDSLEY, ABSOLOM ENDSLEY,MARSHALL M. ENDSLEY among descendants of their JOHN & JANE ENDSLEY.
