Thank you for your response. I am trying to make my connection. My great-grandfather was Joseph T. Endsley. He fought in the Civil War and in those records it is stated that he was born in Wayne County Indiana. He was born in 1840. I cannot find him on the 1850 census. In 1860 he was working on the farm of Caleb Jackson. So I have not been able to identify his parents. He did live with his cousins (descendants of Peter in the 1880 census. I found a note written by that cousin to Joseph that stated that Joseph's grandfather was Abraham. I suspect that his mother and possibly father died before 1850 and that he was living with someone else, since he had little information about his grandparents. There was a Mary Endsley that died of disease listing in the 1850 mortality lists???? I just can't seem to make the connection from Abraham. The one possible son was Josiah, who could have been Joseph's father, but he disappeared from any records that I have found since I started looking.
