I was reading through your postings and think I may be able to fill in some information for you.
My name is Rita Kirkland. I am the granddaughter of Archie Endlsey (rom Marion, IN)who is the son of Mary Endsley from Lamar, MO.
When my father passed, I found a letter, in the original envelop which was postmarked Lamar, MO. It was written by Mary, my greatgrandmother, to my grandfather in Marion, IN. The letter itself is dated June 12, 1933. The contents of the letter are quite depressing speaking of a creek flooding, a cow struck by lightening and the poor condition of the crops. Mary states at the end that she wolud like my grandfather to return to MO to visit as they won't have a home much longer.
I do not know the first name of Mary's husband, my great grand father. Without the letter refering to the writer as Mother and addressing it to my grandfather as Son, I wouldn't have know her name.
If any of this is helpful or if I can supply any further information, please contact me directly at this email address.
