I have been doing a little more research on this, and found Dominic in the 1880 census, living with the Behrs family.
1880 Lake, Cook, Illinois pg. 218
John Behrs 46 (Born: Germ) Carpenter
Elizabeth Behrs 44 (Born: Germ)
Joseph Behrs 18 (Born:Ill)
Lizzie Behrs 17 (Born:Ill)
Lena Behrs 12 (Born:Ill)
Charles Behrs 2 (Born:Ill)
Dominick Engleman 21 (Born:Germ) Brakeman
Unless Therese was a cousen of these Behrs, the only one that makes sence is Lizzy (Lena is possible, but would have had to marry very young). Perhaps Therese was Lizzy's saint name (From what I understand a lot of German Catholics include the family patron saint in their names. This can sometimes get confusing when reading official records.)
I also found Dominick in the 1900 census:
1900 Mason, Decatur, Illinois (North Witt Street)
D. Engelmann Apr 1858 Germany I:1863 (Works Hostler, R.R)
Elizabeth Jun 1868 Illinois Children 4/3 living (Married 12 years)
Marie Nov 1899 Illinois
Barbara Sep 1891
Urban Oct 1893
I will keep looking for more information.
