Hi Jason,
I am still here, searching for my John Enoch. Do you know for a fact, that the John you mention, is my John Enoch? Sorry to question you, it's that I have searched for so long, and not found him. I have nothing on him, beyond his living in Roane Co., Tenn. One of his sons, changed their name from James C. Enochs, to James C. E. Voiles. This James, said that he was born in Greene County, Tennessee in 1832. I have found nothing on James being born in Greene Co, Tn., and I have not found anything on John Enochs there.
James C. E. Voiles said that he had to change his name to his real name when he went into the Civil War. If that were the case, it would mean that he was born out of wedlock and his mother's name would have been Mary Ann Voiles. This is just supposition.
Jason, do you have anything else that you would share with me on the families you mentioned. I did receive both of your e-mail notices. You may e-mail me privately if you would like. I am at
I would love to hear more from you. As I said, I have searched so long and never found anything that would connect to John Enoch in Roane Co., Tenn. In fact, I believe he lived at Post Oak Springs, Roane County, Tennessee. We cannot find a tombstone for him in Roane Co., either. So many of the tombstone's at Post Oak Springs, have deteriorated and are unreadable. Many, many, stones are missing.
Please e-mail.
