I have never found proof that the daughter of John Enochs who married Samuel Bryan ca 1747 before the Bryan clan moved from the Shenandoah to Rowan County, NC, was named Elizabeth. However, proof that their first child was named John is contained in the Will of her father, John Enochs, which was probated 1765 in Rowan Co. Young John Bryan was under 16 and unable to inherit property directly at the time his grandfather named him in his Will. Therefore, he must have been born before 1748 or 49. Sons Samuel Bryan Jr. and Morgan Bryan were born in the early 1750's in Rowan County. John apparently lost his life in Loyalist service during the Revolutionary War. Samuel moved to Columbia County, NY, after the War and died there after 1808. Morgan did not marry and probably died in Rowan County.
