I recently came across the site www.palproject.org, which mentions the Ship Janet, which Johann Philip Enes(age 25)from Kleeburg (now Cleebourg) in Alsace, which was part of the Duchy of Zweibrucken. (with his wife, Maria Catharina (Weimer),and their daughter, Eva Margaretha (age 4) were on when it arrived in Phil. on Oct. 7, 1751. Philip's son George was not mentioned, but he may or may not have been aboard. There is a George Ennis b. ca 1741 d. 1818 listed as marrying an Ann Guin in the Old Swedes Churd in Phil on Dec. 16, 1766. Can anyone verify if this is Philip's son, and when did he arrive in America? I also am trying to find out the maiden name of the wife of a George Enos 1783-1862, Cathatine? ca. 1785-1866. They are buried in New Centerville cemetery in Somerset Co., Pa. He could be the grandson or the great grandson of Johann Philip. I've also seen a George Enos ca. 1767 as the George , Jr. of George and Ann, but he was married to an Elizabeth ?, and 16 years earlier- unless, he is the father of my 1783 George. Perhaps my George is a younger brother- also named George. If anyone knows my George's wife's maiden name, please let me know. My George had a t leat the following children: Henry, Isaac, Jonathan 1814(my line), Mary Ann m. Michael Snyder, Catherine m. Samuel Boucher/Bouscher. I'd also like to know my George's parents' names as well as his siblings. Thank you.
