Greetings fellow Enos family member:

I have a family history in my possession that may or may not be totally accurate. But, my source is still above ground and she appears to be of sound mind and body----as much as an old Portuguese woman can be.

Mrs. Dorothy A. (Oliver) Elliott wrote the history that I refer to, and she resides in California's central valley.

She states that: "Joseph S. Enos left his home in the community of Topo in the Azore Island of Sao Jorge in 1874 at the age of of fifteen. Travelling with him to the "New World" was his younger brother, John, aged fourteen."

Joseph and his wife, Mariana Nunes (She came from the Island of Corvo in the Azores), were married in 1890 in the Catholic Church in Pleasanton, CA.

While they had many children in the Livermore area of California, they did have a child named Joseph, Jr. in 1900.

I do not know if any of this will help us to connect our families, but I will tell you that our family is connected to Tom Hanks, the famous Hollywood movie star. He has yet to connect with us, but blood lines do not lie.

I wish you well on your search.

Regardless of a family connection, please keep in contact.

Michael and Raven Davis (Bettencourt/Enos/Nunes/Tomas)
