Hello Mr. Stein
I'm sorry but you're wrong. Maybe there are a few jews that had the surname, but Enríquez is a patronymic surname. About 500 (or more) years ago, people was named with their father's patronimic. For Example:
The son of Enrique was named Enríquez
The son of Pero or Pedro was named Pérez
The son of Gonzalo was named González
The son of Fernando was named Fernández
The son of Hernán was named Hernández
etc.
So, as you see "Enríquez" is not a jewish surname, as I said, maybe a few jews had it and that's the reason to say that the surname is jewis, but it isn't.
I can give you an example for that:
If I go to Sweden, I change my name to, mmm, "Nordström" and get marry, have children and they have children, all with the "Nordström" surname but with hispanic ancestry, then, a lot of years later, some people who find us in records will say that "Nordström" surname is Spanish.
Can you see?.
Enríquez is a Spanish surname, with hispanic origin, maybe jews got it for a while, but that doesn't mean that Enríquez are jewish, ok?
Thanks
