I have been looking at this Jacob Ensminger too.
Have you seen the Ensminger genealogy where it is listed that a Jacob Ensminger was in Belmont Co. Ohio in 1820, and speculated he had at least children Nicholas, Mary Riley, Catherine Smith, and Mahala Wareham?
I am looking for the same Jacob Ensminger who married Elizabeth Huff in Harrison Co., Ohio on November 17, 1825. This appears to be a match for me if this is the same Elizabeth b. approximately 1774, and who had previously been married to William Huff. This Jacob would likely be a widower of comparable age when he married widow Elizabeth Huff unless I am misidentifying. This Elizabeth has a death date of 1866, which doesn't tie in very neatly with the fact that this Jacob is not listed with a wife on the 1850 census.
Any help very much appreciated.
