I have been searching the Epler's for almost 30 years now and here is some of what I have found.
Johannes Epler (son of Johannes Valentine Epler & Anna Barbara Peiffer Epler b.8-22-1694 ) emigrated from Gaiberg,Northern Krachgau,Germany ,with his wife Anna Barbara Wistar Epler b.1-22-1701;m. 11-26-1720,Bammental Ref. Ch.,Germany.
(d.of Johann Casper Wustar, Woodsman of Hilspach ,Germany, and Anna Catharina Mueller) and their children:

They arrived in Philadelphia in 1737 aboard the SAMUEL out of London.
They purchased a lot of land in Bern Twp. , Berks Co. probably from brother-in-law CASPER
WISTAR & wife CATHERINE , of Philadelphia.
Their origional log home still stands and is incorporated into a much grander stone home
in Centre Twp.,Berks Co.
After settleling here , they added

Beside farming the land in Bern Twp (now Centre Twp.) they also owned one of the first lots laid out in the city of READING upon which they built a half-timmber style building in which was run an Inn. Thie was sold in the 19th century to finance the building of a knitting mill by a grandson, Jared Epler.
Can anyone help me turn up one KATE EPLER

She had 2 children : Ben Jr and Kate (Catherine) who also died.
In 30 yrs. I ahve not turned up a baptism , confirmation, marriage, or death on this individual!
I am descended from this line.
