Lewis Erb Mary Mansfield important information
In my continuing research on my ERB line, I have determined that the LEWIS ERB born 1824 and Married MARY G. MANSFIELD is NOT the SON of PETER ERB AND SUSANNAH WESTER/WEISTER.

The Lewis that married Mary G. Mansfield is NOT repeat NOT the son of Peter and Susan Western/Weister. Their Lewis Erb was born in 1832 and married a Sarah unknown, and had a son named John Calvin Erb. This is backed up by the Schedule of distribution for the property of Susannah Erb 1868. This document is on file at the courthouse in Greensburg, PA. Also the 1850 Census of Westmoreland County Pa gives Lewis age as 18 (equals born 1832).
The Lewis Erb that has been carried by others and myself is probably the son of John Erb, brother of Peter Erb. John Erb is in the 1820, 1830 and 1840 census of Westmoreland County, PA.
The family name has been seen as ERB, ARB and ERP and on 1 occasion as ERD(Mis-transcription)

John Charles Erb, son of Louis and Mary is not listed so he was probably born 1860 vice 1859.
There is a John Erb age 26 living with them, his occupation is Coal Miner
According to this census both Louis Erb and John Erb were born in Germany.
(note 1880 census shows Lewis born PA and both parents born PA.)
