My grandmothers maiden name was ERRETT her fathers family came from SHERE, SURREY, ENGLAND, there were several ERRET'S living in the area and there are still people with the same name living in the area today.I have also found the same name in LANCASHIRE,LEICESTER,KENT,YORKSHIRE,LINCOLN,and one GERMAN born spelt EHRET, I have taken these places of the 1881 english census, hope this helps.
