Hi Roger
I have found a Willaim Storey who married Elizabeth Jenkinson in Filey their first son was bap Henry Errington Storey 1833 I havent managed to connect him to my Henry Errington Storey as yet.
I found the following article in
FILEY POSTMASTERS AND PERSONNEL
The late Mr Storey,of Filey
In his early life Mr Story was originally educated for the law,his uncle at Pickering, with whom he resided for some time, being a lawyer;but that providence which shapes human affairs decided otherwise. When a youth he was apprenticed to a draper at Bridlington Quay.He must have displayed aptitude and energy in his business, for before his apprenticeship had expired his master sent him to manage a branch establishment in Filey. This was in 1827.
William went on to be the Postmaster for Filey for 45 years until his death in 1886.
I also have another Henry Errington Storey bap 1857 in Bridlington to John and Mary Ann Storey.John is the brother of my Henry both are rope makers.
hope you find something of interest here
regards Trudy
