My great, great, great grandfather was that Christian Esch. We spelled Garber with an "a". In my records, Anna was born in 1827 and came to America in 1839. Her parents were Christian and Magdalena Garber. Her brother and sister were Joseph and Magdalena.
I also have some other Garber relations in our family. Another Christian Garber(Gerber,he changed the spelling perhaps when he came over from France in 1841). He married Catherine Nafziger in 1842. He had a brother Peter and a sister Anna. They lived in Washington, Il. They are buried at Union Cemetery in Washington. Their son Joseph had two daughters, Ida and Julia that married some Esch's in our family.
Are our families related?
