Jim, Possibly I have something. Nick, John and Theresa Arendt were siblings who arrived in 1880 and stayed in Iowa for 2 years. They moved on and it appears stayed in the David City, Butler Co, NE area for another 2, because Nick and Mary Esch married there in '84. Nick, Mary, and John(ggf) settled in NW KS. (Menlo, Thomas Co.) I tracked down the Marriage Cert. a while back. Mary Esch was 22 (in 1884)and her father is John Esch, witness's were John Arendt (ggf) & Julin Hilger (sp?). John and Nick were both born in Mensdorf also. Nick & Mary adopted Theresa's 2 girls (young) after she died. I'll keep my ears open for your Esch names/info, Please do the same for Arendt's. Thanks
