Esch Family From Russia
Posted by: Tim (ID *****0067) Date: December 24, 2011 at 05:12:01

I descend from an Esch family who arrived in what was then Alexanderhilf, Russia in 1808.

I would love to hear from other people with an Esch family connection to "Germans from Russia". The area in which my family lived is now part of the Ukraine and I have some relatives who were from what is now Romania.

I am especialy interested in getting in contact with a particular person. NDSU (North Dakota State University) Libararies has a Germans from Russia Heritage Collection. In this collection are some photos from the "Village of Grossliebental, near Odessa, Ukraine." Credit is given to "Photographs by Deborah (Medley) Esch Wescott, Lethridge, Alberta, Summer, 2008"

My Esch ancestors lived in the Grossliebental area prior to comming to the US in 1901. I would love to contact this Deborah and to find out if there is a family connection.
