Glad to hear that another of the Esch branch was able to get out of Russia/Ukraine before the bad times came.
My grandfather, Jacob Esch was born in Odessa in 1881 and came to America with his brother Heinrich around 1901. They were joined about two years later by their father, Andreas Esch and settled in North Dakota.
I will e-mail you some data on the Esch family which lived in the German colony of Grossleibental, Russia, near Odessa on the shores of the Black Sea.
