Hi Gunter, no, the name doesn't contain anything about a passage. It's a combination of the two words "Esche" (*Ash(e) tree) and "Bach" (Creeek) simply indicating a location wherre these trees where found along a creek. A passahe over such a creek would be indicated by the syllibele "furt", not by "bach"
