Proposed family of George ESKRIDGE & Sabrina BRYDER
I have compiled a list of "probable" children and I am curious what others think.I am especially curious of the gap between Martin and John. Here it is:
Ruth 1801 - 1885
Kendall 1803 -
Martin 1808 -
John P. 1821 -
Lavina 1822 - 1900
George W. 1823 - 1866
Lorena 1824 -
James D. 1825 -
Thursa 1826 -
Could Sabrina be the mother of the last 6 children and another wife was mother of the first 3?
This has been compiled from messages on this forum as well as e-mails from several and is no means final.
Also, interested in thoughts as to George's possible parents. Is it possible he is a great-grandson of William 2 & Abigail Coulbourne? All of William 2's known sons were dead by about 1765and George was b. c 1770 (88 at the time of his death in 1858).Hence, George was likely a grandson of one of William 2's sons. Why Wm. 2?As Harry Eskridge has pointed out in an earlier posting, Wm. & Abigail wer the only known Eskridges in the vicinity of DE for the time period. In 1810 we find George, Samuel and William, all in Broad Creek Hundred, Sussex Co., DE.It is possible all 3 were brothers and a "possible" father lived with Samuel, where we find the oldest Eskridge in DE at the time aged 45 & up.This unknown male "could be" a grandson of Wm. 2.
