If you are from South America and are in the Espinosa line you are probably a descendant of Baruch Spinosa, like me.My mother's maiden name is Espinosa and she is from Colombia.Baruch Spinosa fled from Spain with his three sons in the late 1600's to escape the Jewish killings at that time. His three sons went to three different places. One went to Brazil and had children that went all over South America and began Catholis traditiond. One went to Colombia, married an Incan woman, and had 5 children who also began Catholic traditions. And the other went to Mexico.Thay change their names according to local culture and spellings (some changed it to Espinoza and others to Espicosa).Since I do not know if your family has been in the same country for generations I can not tell you which branch you are part of, but I can tell you this: if you meet someone with the name Spinoza, Spinosa, Espinosa, or Espinoza they are probably related in some way to you.
