Pat, I am trying to find information on my husbands grandfather, William George, or George W, or George A which ever happens to be recorded at the moment. It changes frequently. You said your folks lived in Wisconsin, my George served in the Wisconsin 10th light artillery, he gave LaCrosse as his place of residence, and he married and had children in that area. I can find no records of his folks, his birth (it was listed in his first wifes family bible as 1848). He had 3 children by his first wife all girls, went to war, and later married my husbands grandmother and moved to Illinois. Would you have any connections to him or would your records show a stray William or George? Thanks for your time.
