Ostrat - Joggis Family

I'm looking for information regarding the Ostrat and Joggis families in Estonia. My husband's paternal grandparents are from Estonia. Ken Ostrat - Jaan Ostrat - Johnnes Ostrat (1901-1979) - Jaan Ostrat (1862-1938)/ Pauline Peets (1875-) - Mihkel Ostrat (1817-)/ Sohvi Lass (1826-). Ken Ostrat - Jaan Ostrat - Linda Mae Wender (1908-1991)- Nicholas Wender (1876-1957)/ Anna Joggis Sarlandt (1866-1951) - Friedrich Joggis (1837-1887) / Marie Ehvras (1842-1900) - Juri Jogis (1802-1873) / Marie (1807-1856). I know that when the children of Friedrich and Marie Joggis came to the USA most of them changed their last name to Sarlandt. I don't know why.

Any information would be appreciated.
